Cellulite is a condition in which small fat deposits are trapped in the skin. This gives the skin a lumpy, dimpled appearance as a result of the damage caused on the collagen and connective tissues. The resulting dimpling is normally irregular and inconsistent, making it difficult to get rid of. However, there are various natural methods that can give best results if used effectively.

There are many factors that are known to cause cellulite these include poor diet, hormonal imbalance, weight gain, lack of exercises, genetics and sedentary lifestyle. Various forms of exercises are a sure way of reducing the effect of cellulite. These include biking, aerobics and yoga. Generally, a diet low in fat and rich in fiber is the most appropriate. Adopting a healthy lifestyle is a sure way of reducing the effects of cellulite. A sedentary lifestyle should be avoided as it is prone to weight gain and fat. Also coffee, taking of cigarettes and alcohol may lead to the development of the condition. Smoking, though not necessarily linked to cellulite formation, can intensify the appearance of cellulite due to the toxins that it leaves in the body. These usually affects the lymphatic system, which in turn forces out the toxins thereby resulting to cellulite.

It is therefore important to reduce intake of things that will result to fluid retention, these are mainly things that contain sodium. You should also take in at least eight glasses of water so that you can easily flush out toxins.

One of the major massage treatments in cellulite elimination is the spa reduction. Other forms of massage include endermologie and lymphatic massage, which help drain fluids so as to preserve the functionality of connective tissues.

Light or laser therapy- there are two light therapy devices approved by the food and drug association , these devices combine light therapy and massage to reduce the cellulite appearance. TriActive for example, acts by combining skin manipulation such as suction and low level laser to reduce the cellulite. Other machines work with massage therapy and laser combinations.

Cellulite can also be reduced through injection of collagenase, a body enzyme an enzyme that serves to breakdown collagen that connect tissues. Even though injection of the enzyme reduces substantially according to research and studies carried out, this may prove an effective method of reducing cellulite in the near future.

In summary getting rid of cellulite is not easy, but applying one of the methods or a combination of several guarantees results.
