Back in our childhood days, many if not all were always reminded by parents to eat veggies to stay strong and healthy.

Needles to say, although veggies are a great benefit to ones health, it actually doesn't always taste as good as those of fruits. Regarding the taste, this will be up to the person eating the vegetable.

It is a fact that vegetables are essential to the health. They contain vitamins, essential minerals, and fiber which is necessary for a healthy diet. They also vary in texture and color.

Although there are many good supplements which provide these essential vitamins and minerals, we know that nature tends to provide what we need in just the right amounts and combinations that our body can easily digest. Knowing this, we want our children to eat vegetables. The main question however is how you can go about making your children eat vegetables.

One good idea, is to feed them the vegetables that taste good, and find ways to modify the vegetables they don't seem to like. This might include putting such things as brown sugar on squash. To have an appealing taste, you can have your vegetable sauted with butter, garlic and onions. A few of the best tasting vegetables are cauliflower as well as broccoli when sauted or cooked with sauce. Saute as well as meals with sauce are the best way to conceal the bitter as well as other unpalatable tastes in vegetables..

A lot of vegetables however taste better when they are left as they are and not cooked. Its almost amazing that these veggies taste great without the help of anything. The tomato is one of the many vegetables that tastes really good without being cooked which you can simply eat right from the garden. Depending on how they're grown, carrots have a delightful sweet taste when eat raw. However, this is not the case with regards to root crop veggies such as turnips and rutabagas.

On the other hand, these too can be sauted and made more tasty just like potatoes and squash.

Having to boil a vegetable lessens its nutrient as well as vitamin content and not to mention it degrades the taste. If you choose to saute your vegetable, you'll have a better taste and the essential vitamins and minerals will retain. You can also have a better taste if you prepare your vegetables Al Dente style or half cooked.

Compared to all other foods, vegetables remain the best since they posses the most nutrient, mineral and vitamin content. Getting your children to eat them is not difficult if you use your imagination, consider what they like, and prepare those that are not so tasteful in ways that seem to mask the taste. This way, you know your children are getting their essential vitamins and minerals in a form that nature provides for maximum digestion.
